The 50mm f/1.4 MD Rokkor-X is a lovely lens. After shooting my Minolta XG 1 in Operation Thin the Herd, I decided it was time to part with all of my Minolta gear. Bit by bit I’ve been selling it off. But before I let my 50mm f/1.4 MD Rokkor-X lens go, I shot one last roll of film with it.. Review Minolta MC Rokkor 50mm 11.4
Chromatic aberration is nonexistent with the MD 50/1.4 thanks to Minolta’s exceptional optical coatings. Ghosting and flaring are incredibly rare, and one must be shooting directly at the sun to produce these unwanted affects. Even in this extreme situation, ghosts and flares are minimal. It’s pretty amazing, actually.. The Minolta MC ROKKOR‑X 50mm f/1.4 is a big, sharp, solid normal lens from the 1970s.. This new ROKKOR‑X version of the older MC 50mm f/1.4 has a big, fat grippy waffle-pattern rubber grip. The grip is among the best in photography, making focus easy, even with one fingertip, something you can’t do with the old ribbed metal focus rings.
